How to Use the Tally XML Converter

Prepare Your Bank Statement

Export your bank statement from your online banking portal or prepare it in Excel with these columns:

Date: Transaction date in any recognizable format
Narration: Description of the transaction
Cheque No: Cheque number if applicable (can be blank)
Withdrawal: Amount withdrawn/debited from account
Deposit: Amount deposited/credited to account

CSV Format Excel Format

Enter Ledger Names

You need to specify two ledger names that exist in your Tally:

Bank Ledger Name: The name of your bank account in Tally (e.g., HDFC Bank)
Bottom Ledger Name: Usually a suspense account to handle unreconciled entries (e.g., Suspense A/c)

Choose Advanced Format (Recommended)

The Advanced Bank Entries Format includes additional Tally-specific tags like PARTYLEDGERNAME, EFFECTIVEDATE, and proper bank allocations for better compatibility with Tally.

Upload and Convert

Upload your Excel/CSV file and click "Convert to XML". The system will generate Tally-compatible XML with all your transactions.

Import to Tally

Download the generated XML file and import it into Tally using:

Open Tally
Go to Gateway of Tally → Import of Data
Select the downloaded XML file
Verify and accept the transactions
